Why we host it

Ekaii runs its own services so the data stays ours, not a corporation's. This forge is one of them: a home for your code, your projects and your experiments. No surveillance, no quotas, no model trained on your work, no parent company deciding what you are allowed to build.

Four reasons

What you get, and what you don't.
01 · Ownership

Yours, not theirs

Your repositories live on hardware we own and answer for, in France. Nobody mines them, ranks them, sells them, or trains a model on them.

02 · Access

Free and open

Registration is free. Public or private repos, organizations, issues, wikis and CI runners. No paid tier waiting behind a feature.

03 · Ecosystem

Part of Ekaii

One piece of a whole ecosystem of self-hosted services, built to keep our data close to home.

04 · Foundation

Built on Free software

Powered by Forgejo, the community-run libre forge behind Codeberg. Open code, open API, exportable data. No vendor, no lock-in.

Leaving a big platform?

Bring everything with you. Nothing stays behind.

Forgejo's built-in migration imports a repository together with its history, issues, pull requests, labels, milestones, releases and wiki. Moving off GitHub or GitLab takes minutes, not an afternoon.

01 · Register

Create your account

Open and free. It takes a minute, no card and no hoops.

02 · Migrate

03 · Keep it all

History intact

Code, issues, pull requests, releases and wiki arrive together, under your name here.

Straight answers

What people ask before they move their code.

01Is Ekaii Forge really free?+

Yes. Registration is open and free: public and private repositories, organizations, issues, wikis and CI, with no paid tier and no artificial quotas. The hardware is self-funded and independent.

02Is my code used to train AI models?+

No. Nothing you host here, public or private, is mined, sold, ranked or used to train any model. That is a promise the large platforms can no longer make.

03Can I migrate from GitHub or GitLab without losing anything?+

Yes. The built-in migration imports the repository together with its issues, pull requests, labels, milestones, releases and wiki. Paste the repository URL, add an access token for private ones, and the forge does the rest.

04Who runs this, and where is my data stored?+

Ekaii Forge is part of Ekaii, an independent, self-funded set of services running on hardware we own in France. No corporation behind it, no investors, no advertising, no trackers.

05Does it have CI/CD?+

Yes. Forgejo Actions runs workflows on our own runners, with GitHub-Actions-compatible syntax, so existing workflow files usually run with minimal changes.

06What powers this forge? Am I locked in?+

Forgejo, the community-governed libre forge that also powers Codeberg. Git itself is distributed and the API is open, so everything you host can be cloned, mirrored or exported at any time. No lock-in by design.
